"The Hunger Games"-The 5 most important objects

My 5 most important objects which represent the book "The Hunger Games" are: The arrows, , Rue, mockingjay, the bread from district 11 and the relationship between Peeta and Katniss.

  • First of all I would like to explain why the arrows are important because the arrow is the only thing which helps Katniss to survive, protect herself and to kill other tributes. Her father teached her how to use it and after he died, Katniss had to feed her family with dead animals which she killed with Gale in the forest.

  • Secondly I have chosen is Rue. She's the best friend of Katniss in the arena, they helped eachother and she's also the youngest tribute. She has got a big knowledge about fruits, vegetables and berries because in district 11 are huge plants.

  • My next object is the mockingjay. It's mainly a symbol for district 11 and 12. When Katniss said goodbye to her family and friends, Madge (a friend of Katniss) gave her a pin with an mockingjay. But it's also a symbol for the farm hands in district 11. When this birds started to sing a special melody, the farm hands knew that they can stop working. Last but not least, the mockingjays are helpful for Katniss and Rue in the arena because they communicated with melodies.

  • The bread from district 11 is also a big point to mention. It's a lovely gift for Katniss because she was by Rue and sang until she died. It's probably not the most helpful gift but it's a kind to say "Thank you." from district 11.

  • The last point is the relationship between Peeta and Katniss. In my opinion that's the most important issue in the book because the author wrote a lot about Katniss' thoughts which often deals with Peeta. I had the problem that I didn't know when Peeta said the truth and when he lied for the publicity and for the sponsors.
