"The Hunger Games" - A book with many different faces
First of all I would like to say that I can understand well why this book has such a great success. It deals with several problems which are on the one hand often very terrible but on the other hand also very sentimental. They inspire you to think ande make you curious how the book ends.
To my mind, at the beginning it was difficult to arrive in the story because there were many words I didn't know. It unsettled me a little bit and first I looked up every unknown word but than I noticed that it would take to much time and actually it's not necessarily to know every single word.
To be honestly I was proud of me after finishing such a long englisch novel and I perceived that the reading helped me to get more familiar with the language.
I think the main question the book deals with is: What is only a show and what is real life?
The central character Katniss has a hard life and therefore a very strong personality.
You can feel her ambition, anger, dolor and pleasure. This makes the girl interesting and the whole story exciting. In Addiction, every chapter ends with a new unexpected situation which also forces you into going on with reading.
And because of the question coming up at the beginning I would like to talk about the relationship between Katniss and Peeta and in contrast to that I also would like to talk about the relationship between Katniss and Gale.
Furthermore, Katniss development during the story seems very fascinating to me and the power of the Gamemakers.
To sum up, in my opinion the book is very readable and thrilling, it deals with a complexity of issues and perhaps make you think about our society.
