"The Hunger Games" - My Opinion

It has everything in it, thrilling parts, deaths and a lovestory - "The Hunger Games"

One of the most popular books is "The Hunger Games" right now. To improve our English skills we all read the book in class and deal with it in the lessons. Now I will present you my reading experience.

From the beginning on I was pretty exited about the book, because I always wanted to read an popular English book but never had a big motivation to do this really. Furthermore I am very happy that we are reading a popular and “young” book in school, what doesn’t really happen often.
By start reading the story I had a bit a problem with imagine how the people and the environment looks like. I guess it is just because I have never read such a big book in a foreign language. But during the reading this became better.

What I really liked about the novel was that it is exciting and at the end of every chapter you want to know whats next because it is so well written.
Not that good was that for me it was a bit difficult to understand everything and furthermore you must learn not to look up every unknown word. I guess this is the most important thing by reading in a foreign language. You should just look up these words you really need for understanding.

After finishing the book I felt very happy. I am kind of proud that I was able to read such a book and understand the meaning of the story. And I want to read the next book! The author mad at the end of the book the same thing like at the end of the chapters: she ended with the beginning of a new part of the story, therefore I am so exited to start reading what will happen next, when Katniss and Peeta are back home.

Last but not least I want to mention what I think were the most interesting and thrilling parts in the story:
  • The lovestory with Peeta. Until the end I really thought Peeta is also just playing a game.
  • How Katniss survied, how she was able to escape from the career tributes and how she could stand everything that was in the arena.

To everyone who didn’t read the book yet I can just say: READ IT! It is so sad, lovely and thrilling!
