"The Hunger Games" in 5 objects
I have chosen the five most
important objects "The Hunger Games" is about:
- The first thing I
have chosen is the hunger games. It must be a reason why this is also the title.
The games are the main issue and the book builds on that. As in the book
written this horrible idea is to remind the people from the districts what has happened
years ago and that they will never try to overthrow the capitol and fight each
other again. And I guess the capitol has really managed this.
- Secondly I would
mention the capitol. They invented and made the hunger games to show their
power and oppression upon the people in the districts. Also they play with the lifes
of people and animals like with bricks. This shows for example the many mutations
in the story or even the tributes.
- My third selection is the mockingjay. This
is a symbol for district 11 and 12. Before the reaping has started Madge (a girl
form district 12; her father is the mayor of district 12) gave Katniss a
pin with a mockingjay. While the whole games Katniss carried this with
her and it reminds her at home. Also Rue, Katniss ally, has to deal with this bird. She
always sang with them and the whole district 11 has a relation to these
birds.
- Fourthly I have taken the districts. Panem
is divided into 13 districts. But the last on, district 13, the capitol
has destroyed. So there are 12 ones left. The unfair thing about the
districts is that they don't have the same chances. The higher the number
of the district, the wors is their lifes. Also district 1 until 4 train their
children to careers, therefore the other tributes don't have a big chance
to survive the games.
- Last but not least I would mention the
relationship between Katniss and Peeta. I think this is also important for
the story because this is besides surviving the games the main issue the
book is about. While I was reading I never was sure (like Katniss) if
Peeta is also just acting the feelings like Katniss does. I think this is one aspect that makes the story very exciting.
I hope you enjoy reading our blog,
