"The Hunger Games"  - A stunning book

"Constant suspense....I couldn't stop reading" - that is what Stephen King said about "The Hunger Games". And it is also exactly how I felt while reading this book.

“The Hunger Games” is the novel everybody is talking about right now and is even for foreigners easy to understand. At the beginning it was a little bit difficult to imagine Panem because it is so different from our situation but after the first few pages it was already pretty hard for me to stop reading! Particularly when Katniss goes into the arena and the suspense grows I got immediately and extremely addicted to this book. 

What I really liked about “The Hunger Games” is that it is so extraordinary and touches about so many topics. It is not only the development of the love story between Peeta and Katniss but also the conflicts with the Capitol that makes this novel that special. 

While reading it I felt very near to Katniss although she lives her life in a completely different way than I do. However, the many details, the stories she tells Peeta and above all of course her relationship to Prim form her to an amazing character. It is amazing how she deals with her situation and what she does to save the ones she loves.

After I had finished the book I still reflected Katniss' personality. On one hand she is so sympathetic shows that honestly but on the other hand she does not anybody want to know about her vulnerability and is not even willing to recognize her feelings for Peeta. I wanted to directly buy book two to get to know how their relationship and especially Katniss is going to develop.

I truly can recommend the book because it is actually one of the best I have ever read. And after all I think you can describe “The Hunger Games” - just like “The Times” did – with one word: Stunning
